A bit about the area around our B&B…
We are tucked away in rural West Sussex, within the South Downs National Park and on the very edge of the National Trust`s Woolbeding Estate.
The access to our house is along a mile long single track tarmacked lane through woodland and common land with beautiful views as you climb up hill, there are passing places to use should you meet someone coming in the opposite direction – the last little bit is untarmacked and parking is on a slight slope – if you need to be parked on the level for mobility reasons please call me to discuss and arrange.
Surrounded by wonderful countryside, public footpaths pass our gate and so if you enjoy walking you can easily walk for miles around the area – there is much wildlife to look out for on the common as well as migrating birds, wild flowers and beautiful views.
The South Downs are close by, lots of spots to leave the car along this stretch of them and then you are free to explore them and the amazing flora that’s grows on their slopes.
If that all sounds too much like hard work then we are situated within easy driving distance of many local attractions!
The picturesque village of Midhurst is a ten-minute drive away, it has a busy high-street and small supermarket as well as cafes and pubs. Midhurst is also a big hub for Polo over the summer played locally on the Cowdray estate.
The Goodwood estate is also close by with the various festivals, motor and horse racing events they host throughout the summer.
The cathedral city of Chichester is about a 30-minute drive south, and the beautiful sandy beaches of Wittering are another 20 minutes further on.
There are many country houses locally such as Parham, Uppark, Petworth with their gardens and extensive parkland to explore as well as lots of picturesque villages to potter about in and country pubs to have lunch at.
